What is the Patient Portal?
The Patient Portal has always been available, but it now offers more features than ever for our patients! Once registered through the office, you can schedule your check-ups and wellness exams, reschedule or cancel your appointment, send refill requests for medication, see statements and balance information, or even send messages to the clinic staff and nurses.
What insurances do you accept?
We are happy to say that we accept most insurances – including TriCare, BlueCross BlueShield, Ambetter, Cigna, Medicare, and more. As much as we would love to help Medicaid-covered patients, we are currently unable to do so due to coverage being denied for services provided by an APN. Similarly, we are unable to help patients covered by Cigna HealthSpring Medicare Replacement, or Qualchoice coverage that has been obtained through the marketplace (Obamacare) until such policies change.
How can I pay my bill?
There are currently 4 ways to pay your bill…
1. By phone : Just call us at the office to make a payment (479.434.3131).
2. By mail: You can either return your mailed statement with the appropriate payment, or mail a check to our office at 3811 Rogers Ave, Suite A, Fort Smith, AR, 72903.
3. Walk-in: Drop by our office, and let our team at the front desk assist you!
4. Automatic Payments: Set up worry-free weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payments! Just call the office, or ask the front desk for details when you come in.
Can I pay my bill online?
Currently, we don’t offer online bill pay. Though we admit it would be convenient, we could not justify the fees that would be charged to our patients for this service. Our patients are important to us, and we like to protect their best interest.
We hope in the near future we can once again offer this method to everyone. Until that time, our office staff is more than happy to help you with any payments you may need to make!
How do I get refills on my medications?
If you are currently a patient of Tonya’s, and need a refill on your medication, contact your pharmacy and ask them to send us a refill request to get it as quickly as possible. Some medications require regular appointments for refills, so don’t forget to keep any you have scheduled (always make sure you have a follow-up before you leave the office!). You also have the ability to send refill requests through our online Patient Portal.
Don’t forget – always allow 24-48 business hours to complete your request.
Unfortunately, getting your prescriptions filled by a pharmacy in Oklahoma can take a little longer. Oklahoma laws pertaining to prescriptions ordered by an APN require the signature of Tonya’s supervising physician, Dr. Hamby. This adds a couple of extra steps in the process, so please allow for a little extra time should you be pressed to have your medications filled in Oklahoma. For patients in any other state, this does not apply to you!
How do I get my lab results?
We do require a follow up with your provider for your lab results so you can understand them in a clear and comprehensive way. Just like the results for pretty much anything medical, blood work can be difficult to understand and even harder to interpret. We have far too many cases of someone getting the results to their blood work, and then going to Google to understand what they’re seeing. Let’s just say, that never really ends well…
Can someone just call me with my lab results?
Unlike testing to see whether or not you have the flu, the blood work done within the clinic is usually part of your maintenance care to help you and your provider know how you are progressing and what areas may require further treatment. The labs we order for our patients almost always have very specific indicators for the “broad view” scope of our patient at that time, and assists in their long-term treatment – not just a quick diagnostic.
For patients on HRT, or being seen for weight loss, heart issues, and the like, regular checks on particular levels are important for staying on track with progress, or to help us make necessary changes. Most often, these test results are not of the positive/negative sort, but are actually a large spectrum of various levels that need to be interpreted and explained by a professional.
Briefly stated, there is usually just too much information to be provided in a phone conversation. We want to give each patient the extent of what they need to know about their progress, what changes need to be made in their care, offer them the chance to ask related questions, and provide the documentation necessary to help them understand their results – as well as what it means for them going forward.
How do I schedule or change appointments?
Scheduling, cancellations, reschedules and such can mostly be managed through our online Patient Portal, or by calling the office at 479.434.3131.
- Lab appointments are only available in the mornings, from 7:30 to 11am.
- If you have a fasting lab, please have nothing to eat or drink after midnight except black coffee and (lots of) water.
- Lab appointments are not for self-schedule. You need an office visit first.
- Wellness visits are yearly preventative exams that are not associated with sickness or referrals.
- Wellness visits are usually covered 100% by most insurances, but not always. Please contact your insurance company should you have any questions.
We do offer school, work, and sports physicals for $25 from Monday through Thursday, 1pm and 4:30pm, by walk-in appointment only. Availability can vary daily based on schedule.
What about New Patients?
Currently, we’re unable to take on new medical patients. BUT, we do have a waiting list for those interested in being a patient of Tonya’s in the near future! To be added to the waiting list, call the office at 479.434.3131, or simply send us a message.
